Review: L’oreal Total Repair 5 Repairing Shampoo

Just last week, I finished a bottle of L’oreal Total Repair 5 shampoo. I didn’t have plan of trying this shampoo but it caught my attention when the salesgirl assigned in the toiletries section said that it has Php 5 discount. :D  I know it isn’t much but considering that it is cheaper than Pantene during that time, I decided to go for it. Anyway, I have been using Pantene for years and making that change is kinda hard for me because Pantene is what helped me treat my damaged hair due to straightening.

Aside from discount, a few of my friends have been saying good things about this shampoo hence another reason for the switch.

One 180ml bottle probably lasted for a month and here’s the verdict if indeed it combat the five signs of damaged hair; breaking, dry, dull, coarse and split-ends.

What I like about this product:
  • Hair is really soft after use you can’t help but touch and comb it often.
  • The smell is typical shampoo smell, neither fruity nor musky.
  • Tames my hair a bit better than Pantene
  • The price is reasonable; its regular price is almost the same price as Pantene.

What I don’t like about this product:
  • It caused dandruff and itchy scalp.
  • I can still see falling hair on my pillow and each time I shampoo or comb my hair.

Will I repurchase?
Probably not. I still have to try other shampoos.

Ingredients:
Aqua/water, sodium laureth sulfate, coco-betane, glycerin, dimethicone, glycol distearate, sodium chloride, guar hydroxypropy;trimonium chloride,  sodium benzoate, sodium hydroxide (listed the first ten ingredients only since they’re too too much for me to spell. LOL!)

Product Description:
The first total reparation of the 5 signs of damaged hair with Cement-Ceramide, L’Oreal’s exclusive active ingredient, that works similarly to natural hair cement. It keeps hair strong and healthy by filling in cracks for strengthened and resilient hair and sealing hair scales for replenished moisture and ultra-smooth and ultra-shiny hair surface. Split-ends are prevented.

  2. Thanks for the comment Vidhi. Yes this L'oreal Total Repair 5 is really good but unfortunately it causes my dandruff. I think I should have used anti-dandruff shampoo like once a week while using this. But it's worth a try. I might go back to using this if I cannot find a shampoo better than this.

  4. Hi Poonam sangoi! Thank you for the comment. Yes, you are right! The same product may not always have the same effect to two different individuals. :)
