Review: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

My recent and ongoing battle against pimples exhausted my concealer thus necessitates for the procurement of a new one which can help me hide such hideous little devils. :D After seeing this from a friend’s stock of items for sale, I decided to get this product though I have not read any product review. It wasn’t love at first sight; it was urgency and maybe desperation. :D

I have been using this product for more than two months already so I think it is about time that I make a blog post about it.

Product Description:
FLAWLESS THAT LETS THE REAL YOU COME THROUGH
BEYOND MATCHING: FRESH, BREATHABLE, NATURAL

Review:
Packaging and Appeal. The packaging is nothing too extraordinary. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer comes in a typical concealer packaging and doe-foot applicator. The body is clear plastic with minimal markings and the cap/handle of the applicator is solid black. I love that the doe-foot applicator is sturdy and not as flimsy as that of Rimmel London’s I have tried before.

Scent. This product doesn’t give out excessive scent. You cannot even smell it while you are applying.

Pigmentation. I got the sand sable (20) shade and it matches my medium skin tone perfectly. There are times when I use this concealer alone… no foundation or pressed powder above it. You just have to apply it right to prevent white patches around your face.

This concealer is doing ok when it comes to hiding my pimple scars. While it doesn’t make me look unbelievably flawless, my face looks realistic and decent enough. After all, I don’t usually put on too much foundation or powder after concealer so I think it is understandable.

Texture. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is never sticky nor is it difficult to blend. It isn’t chalky either. It glides softly and doesn’t leave white residue or cause white patches around the face provided you make an effort to keep facial oil at bay. If you have oily face, you better use blotting sheet from time to time to lessen the oil and prevent your makeup including your concealer from smudging hence causing white residue all over the face. Also, applying and blending properly can prevent makeup disasters to happen.

Staying Power. Staying power is good but since I blot (and wipe) my face often to address my facial oil, the effect tends to disappear over time thus the need to reapply after around four hours or before leaving the office.

Ingredients. Water (Aqua), Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Glycerin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Propylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide, Ozokerite, Phenoxyethanol, Magnesium Sulfate

Price. Since I got this from a friend who sells authentic US brands makeup, it’s a bit cheaper when compared to department store price.

Availability.  I think this Maybelline product is available in selected Maybelline counters only since I can't find it in some malls in my area.
