Review: BYS Eyeshadow

Happy Sunday everyone! How’s the start of the year for you? How’s your New Year’s resolution going? As for me, I do not have New Year’s resolution… just goals I want to achieve this year. I am not sure about the difference between the two but I prefer to use goals as New Year’s resolution seems so cliché. :D Right now I am on the process of achieving one of my goals and proof is this post. Yes, each post makes me closer to achieving one of my goals and that is to update this blog regularly and post at least eight articles every month.

For my fourth blog post this month, I will be talking about my latest beauty find - the BYS 5-piece eyeshadow. Well, it’s not actually very latest because I bought it before Christmas but considering that I already have posts lined up back then, I deem it best to talk about it today.

I used this baby maybe twice since I bought it and I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last time that I’ll be using this beauty product again. Find out why...

Product Description: This is the ultimate eyeshadow compact, combining 5 colors so your options are endless. The lightweight formula is easy to blend and comes with its own applicator. Be as creative as you like with these palettes.

Review:

Packaging and Appeal. The packaging looks ok to me. It comes in a black palette with a transparent lid so you can see the color even if it’s closed. It has minimal design with only the brand name printed outside. It doesn’t have a mirror though. As with the sturdiness of the palette, I rate it 5 out of 10 as it is made of plastic and can easily break when dropped to the floor.

Scent. I love that this eyeshadow is unscented. You cannot smell even just a hint of chemical or other scent common among eyeshadows.

Pigmentation. The pigmentation is okay and colors didn’t oxidize after application.

Texture. While this eyeshadow is easy to blend especially when applied with a good brush, it can get a bit chalky at times. However, it is not as chalky as other eyeshadow brands I have tried such as Black Radiance.

Staying Power. Without primer, this can last around three and but I’m pretty it will last longer with a primer.

Ingredients.

Price. BYS is affordable compared to other non-local brands cosmetics available in the country. This 5-color eyeshadow is sold for Php 299 which I think is worth its price.

Availability. I think this is only available in SM Delgado (where I bought mine) and SM City Iloilo.

Yes... the other shades that is.

Conclusion.
If you are a makeup newbie and doesn’t want to spend much on your “practice” supplies, the go for this one. It is reasonably-priced and the quality is better than other budget-friendly makeup’s available in the market.
