Review: Milea Tea Tree Shampoo

It’s been ages since my last post. Oh well! What can I do? We lost our internet connection on the 11th of January and the “good” people of Globe took two weeks to fix it. So much time and earning potential wasted. Moving on, this post has been in my draft for weeks but didn’t get the chance to publish it before we lost our internet so it’s just right that I publish this now after weeks of being MIA.

If you have read my previous posts, you will know that I suffered from dandruff since early last year until until 3rd quarter of 2014. I tried lots of homemade remedies and shampoos, including natural ones and thankfully, I have found my cure a couple or so months ago - washing my hair with Lactacyd Baby Wash (blue) daily for a couple of weeks. However, daily use of Lactacyd can be drying to the hair so I decided to look for alternative. I found Human Heart Nature Strengthening shampoo and got good results at first but long time use on daily basis made my hair itchy again so I went back on my quest for the right shampoo. When I purchased (from eBay) my husbands Milea Aloe Vera Shampoo (for hair fall), I decided to get this Milea Tea Tree Shampoo for myself as it claims to deal with dandruff.

Now, I am thankful that I got this. read on to find out why...

Non-SLS/SLES/PEG/Paraben formulated, mild enough to use everyday

REVIEW

Packaging and Appeal. The shampoo comes in a tall and slim shaped transparent bottle. The shampoo itself is green and is a bit watery compared to other shampoos. I think it has the same consistency as the Human Heart Nature Strengthening shampoo.

Like other organic shampoos, this doesn’t lather well. You just have to get used to it especially if you are making the switch from drugstore/commercial shampoos to organic hair care products.

Effectiveness. I couldn’t more thankful with this product. Right now, this is my most favorite shampoo as it does not only prevent acne, it is not making my scalp itchy other.

The only negative result I am getting from this shampoo is that it tends to make my hair a bit dry and less manageable when used daily. To remedy the problem, I am using this in alternate with Human Heart Nature Strengthening shampoo as this one makes my hair more manageable yet causes itchiness. I am also using Human Heart Nature Strengthening conditioner on top of shampoo daily.

Scent. At first, I find the scent of this shampoo a bit off and strong for my liking but overtime, I have gotten used to it. After all, it disappears right away.

Ingredients. Aqua, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Tea Tree Extract, Citronella Extract, Vegetable Glycerine, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate (certified organic preservative), Peppermint essential oil

Price. The 200 ml bottle I got costs Php 275. A bit expensive but it’s worth it!

Availability. Unfortunately, this product and most other products from Milea/All Organics can be bought from selected dealers, online and their official site. It is best to buy in bulk to save on shipping. They offer free shipping on orders above Php 1000.

CONCLUSION

If you are looking for a natural shampoo to prevent dandruff, this one is for you. It is safe, natural and proudly Pinoy-made. This can be quite drying though so better partner it with a great conditioner that is equally safe and effective in preventing dandruff.
