Review: Nivea Extra White Repair Pore Minimiser Foam

One of my favorite face washes is the Nivea. I haven’t had any major problem with it that is why I keep on buying and using it. But one time while shopping for my beauty essentials, the variant is not available and since I have no time to go to other stores to look for it, I opted for what is available - the  Nivea Extra White Repair Pore Minimiser Foam. Given that they belong to the same company, I was kinda hopeful that it will do ok, or perhaps better than Nivea Visage Sparkling White Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam since it claims to suit extra dull skin with extra large pores.

The verdict? See my review below.

Review:

The packaging is nothing extraordinary. Like other Nivea facial wash, this one comes in an upside down tube in white with pink accent. The tube is easy to squeeze and the flip top cap is easy to open. The product itself is white cream without specks of color or whatsoever.

A pea-sized amount creates a rich lather that should be enough to clean the face and neck. There is no stinging sensation.

Effectiveness. As what I have said, I had high hopes with this product. Unfortunately for me, it caused more harm than good. Days or weeks after using it, my face became dry. Whiteheads and small pimples are popping everywhere. Despite following it up with Celeteque Dermoscience Acne Solutions Oil Control Toner, the combination cannot deal with the persistence of pimples. It claims to deal with extra dull skin but to me it seems like it made my skin extra dull. It hasn't done anything either to improve my large pores. I knew I just have to give up.

Scent. This smell of this variant is a bit stronger than the Nivea Visage Sparkling White Acne Oil Control Cleansing Foam but it is not something I cannot tolerate.

Ingredients.

Price. The price is very affordable. The small tube costs php 75 and the bigger tube costs around Php 150. But for me, it is not worth it though.

Availability. Available in most malls and supermarkets.

Would I buy this product again?
Definitely not. It’s too harsh for my skin type.

Conclusion:
This product is formulated for those who use makeup everyday. While I am not fully made up everyday, I still use foundation or pressed powder on daily basis thus I decided to try this product. But instead of thoroughly cleaning my face as what I hoped for, I wasn’t able to achieve that. I think this is simply not what my skin needs. My skin is kinda messed up now because of this and probably made worse by trying an organic shampoo but I am hopeful that I can handle this. If not, the dermatologist is just a meters away from the office. :D
